HEC Soon To Recognize Sindhi Boli Journal: Chairman SLA



Sindhi Language Authority (SLA) chairman Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ali Manjhi has said that he had written a letter to Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan to recognize authority’s research journal ‘Sindhi Boli’ in its category  and soon it would be recognized.

Dr. Manhji told that in a meeting with WiseSindh, here at SLA office in Hyderabad on Thursday.

He said that previously the journal was recognized by HEC in its Z’ category, but due to inconsistency in publishing during previous administrations the journal was removed from HEC’s list, but as soon as he took over the charge as chairman, he wrote a letter to HEC asking them to recognize the journal once again.

Mr. Manjhi said that he would carry on the aim of SLA, that promoting Sindhi language, and in that regard publishing of books, conducting seminars and workshops, up gradation of dictionary and encyclopedia were in pipeline.

According to SLA’s official website The “Sindhi Boli” Research Journal is published to promote the “Academic Research” in Sindhi Language. 60% copies of this Journal are sent to Scholars, Writers and libraries free of cost to motivate the young generation towards conducting Research in Sindhi Language. This journal was introduced in 1998, and is a bi-annual journal, that publishes research papers on Sindhi language.

                            Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ali Manjhi:


Prof. Dr. Manjhi is a renowned educationist of Sindh, he holds PhD degree from Karachi University (KU) and wrote thesis on topic of ‘Sufi Shah Inayat Shaheed and his disciple poets’.

According to Daily Dawn: “the research provided knowledge about struggle of Shah Inayat and his 132 disciple poets. The thesis also contained detailed research on Sufism in Sindh.”

He has 50 published research papers and 2 collections of poetry to his credit, previous to this post Dr. Manjhi served as head of Dr. N.A Baloch Research Center for Culture and Heritage. While he was also nominated for Presidential Pride of Performance Award.
