Do You Know How Many Sindhi Book Launching Ceremonies Were Held At Arts Council, Karachi During 2019

According to the webpage of Arts Council, Karachi www. https://www.artscouncil.org.pk not a single book launching ceremony of Sindhi books was held at Arts Council Karachi, or the activity was not made part of the official record, on the other hand as many as 14 book launching ceremonies of Urdu and other languages were held at Arts Council, Karachi and six of those 14 book launching ceremonies were organized/hosted by the Adabi Committee, Arts Council, Karachi.

Following is the list of those launching ceremonies as reported by council’s webpage:

1-      Launching ceremony of “Shoor ki Dastak” by Amna Alam was held on 19th October 2019.

2-      Launching ceremony of “Aks-e-Awaz” by Syed Noor Zaheer Rahbar was held on 03rd October 2019.

3-      Launching ceremony of “Adab Parey” organized by the Arts Council, Karachi’s Adabi Committee was held on 28th September 2019.

4-      Launching ceremony of “UturnCracy” by Muhammad Islam, organized by the Arts Council, Karachi’s Adabi Committee was held on 23rd August 2019.

5-      Launching ceremony of Soha Irfan’s “Mindless Genius” hosted by the Arts Council, Karachi and Turnkey Publishers, was held on 21st August 2019.

6-      Even the launching ceremony of “Mathematics Practice Book” was held on 03rd August 2019.

7-      Launching ceremony of SM Moin Qureshi’s book “Yoon nahi Yoon-aur kuch degar” was hosted by the Arts Council, Karachi on 25th July 2019.

8-      Launching of Rehmat Rohaila’s “Hasil Umer-e-rawan” hosted by Arts Council, Karachi was held on 25th July 2019.

9-      Launching ceremony of Hafeez Shahzad Hashmi’s book “Meri aankhain kuch num rehti hain” was held on 19th July 2019.

10-   Launching ceremony of Urdu novel “Shehr-e-be-Mehar” by Hassan Javaid was held on 05th July 2019.

11-   Launching ceremony of book “Yadoon Ke Dariche” by Azmat Ansari was held on 2nd July 2019.

12-   Arts Council, Karachi hosted launching ceremony of “Ayeeno kay Darmiyaan” by Dr. Nisar Ahmed Nisar on 20th June 2019.

13-   Launching ceremony of “Ik Sher Abhi Tak Rehta Hai” was held on 03rd April 2019.

14-   Launching ceremony of “Kaha us ne Suna main ne” by Zafar Rizvi Amrohi was held on 06th January 2019.

 It seems that not a single Sindhi book was published in 2019, either Sindhi books didn’t reach Karachi in 2019, or they were not befitting the caliber of Arts Council, Karachi?
