Writer And Activist Sarang Joyo Forcefully Abducted From Karachi



Young writer, researcher and socio-political activist Sarang Joyo was abducted from his residency at Akhtar Colony, Karachi, last night by men in plain clothes alleged to be men belonging to law enforcing agencies.

In this regards Sarang’s father and renowned writer and rights activist Mr. Taj Joyo claimed that Sarang went missing from his residency at Akhtar Colony after men in plain clothes forcefully entered his house and abducted him, he doubted that those men belonged to law enforcing agencies.
Mr. Joyo claimed that Sarang was a peaceful citizen, while he was participating in the protests held for the immediate recovery of missing persons from Sindh and Balochistan at Karachi.
He said that from quite some time they were getting threats via phone calls from unknown numbers, and last night they abducted Sarang.

Mr. Joyo elaborated that peaceful protest was constitutional right of every citizen in the country, but from long time citizens were being deprived of that right.

“We are not terrorists, we believe in peaceful and non-violent protests that is our right, if anyone is involved in any criminal activity that person should be brought before the court law. In this country Kulbashan Yadav, a verified Indian spy was given a counselor and got chance to represent himself in court of law, but we Sindhis and Baloch are deprived of that right. Law enforcing agencies are involved in forceful disappearances of their own citizens,” Taj Joyo added.

Writers, political and rights’ activists including Shoukat Hussain Shoro, Hafeez Kumbhar, Jami Chandio, Sindhoo Nawaz Ghangro, Ghulam Rasool Chandio,  and others have showed their concerns on forceful disappearance of Sarang Joyo and called it brutal act and clear violation of basic human rights.They have demanded immediate recovery of Sarang Joyo.

It is pertinent to mention that from quite some time Sarang Joyo along with his friends and supporters was doing protest for recovery of forcefully disappeared persons from Sindh and Balochistan, outside Karachi Press Club.
