Teacher And Rights' Activist Sarang Joyo Returns Home



Teacher, writer and activist Sarang Joyo, son of renowned poet and scholar Taj Joyo has returned home after he was forcefully abducted from his home at Akhtar Colony, Karachi a week ago, Sarang returned home in wee hours today.

Sarang’s return brought a layer of happiness among his family and friends, while many writers and civil society of Sindh have congratulated both Sarang and his father Taj Joyo on his safe return.
In this regard Mr. Taj Joyo told WiseSindh that it was some relieve that his son had returned but they would continue their struggle for safe recovery of all the missing persons of Sindh, Sarang was also taking active part in protest for recovery of missing persons.

Few days back Mr. Taj had refused to accept Pride of Performance Award claiming that Sindhi youngsters were being forcefully abducted by law enforcing agencies, Center was not giving rights to Sindh, its water was being theft and basic rights of people were being violated, so he considered it was betrayal with his motherland Sindh to receive any award in such situation.

In this regards PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in a tweet had mentioned that he had asked senate committee for Human Rights to raise the issue of missing persons of Sindh, specifically mentioning Sarang Joyo’s name. The session was to be held on Monday, 17-August-2020 (today).

It is pertinent to mention that from quite some time Sarang Joyo along with his friends and supporters was doing protest for recovery of forcefully disappeared persons from Sindh and Balochistan, outside Karachi Press Club. He is a research associate at SZBIST and secretary General of Sindh Sujagi Forum.
