Protest For Missing Persons At Karachi Enters Into 13th Day



The CEO of Naon Niapo Academy, Karachi, Sindh, Inam Sindhi staged a protest outside Karachi Press Club for continuous 13th day here on Sunday demanding immediate release of missing persons and to stop increasing religious extremism in Sindh. 

He also carried banner that read immediately release missing persons of Sindh, while pictures of Dr. Arfana Mallah and Professor Sajjid Sommro were also pasted on it, both of them came under threats from religious extremists and were accused of blasphemy few days back.

In this regards Mr. Iman staged a protest to raise voice for missing persons who happen to be political and rights activists.

Inam Sindhi was of the opinion that people of Sindh were being deprived of their basic human rights, while many of nationalist activists were missing from more than two years.

"It is the right of families to know about whereabouts of their loved ones. Those abducted forcibly have no criminal records neither they are involved in any activity that is harmful to society, yet they were forcibly abducted by different law enforcing agencies just because of their political views," Mr. Sindhi claimed.

He termed it as the violation of basic human rights and said that the matter of missing persons was very important matter yet the so-called national media remained silent on it as always.

On the issue of Dr. Arfana Mallah and Professor Sajjid Soomro, who were charged of blasphemy for their derogatory remarks against religion on social media, Mr. Sindhi commented that it was a serious conspiracy to divert Sindhi people from real issues like bogus domiciles, NFC Awards and settlement of foreigners in Sindh.

"The real problem Sindh is facing at this precise moment of time is lack of mature political leadership. We have amateur political leadership in form of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sanan Quershi and Rashid Mehmood Soomro," he added.

Inam Sindhi himself was forcibly abducted by armed men in plain clothes from University Road, Karachi, Sindh, one while he was dropping his daughter to Karachi University (KU) and went missing for more than 18 months.
