Bhutto Committed Political Blunders: Jami Chandio

Renowned Sindhi political analyst and critic Mr. Jami Chandio has claimed that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto committed many political blunders, while there were contradictions in his politics and ideology.
He was talking to a youtuber Hussun Abbas, after recent controversy regarding Bhutto and his books that came out after Mr. Chandio's social media post.

Mr. Chandio said that: "There is no doubt that Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was among great politicians, not only of Pakistan or this region but of the world in the later half of 20th century, his politics and thinking has international and  South Asian dimensions, as well as in the context of Muslim world, third world and aslo in the context of Pakistan.

As many great persons have contradictions in their politics and ideologies, likewise we find many contradictions in Bhutto's politics and ideology, despite of the fact that he was an extraordinary intelligent person.

In this regards there are many positive contributions and achievements of Mr. Bhutto and it is impossible to ignore them, while there are his serious political blunders, so both positive and negative aspects are part of his political career, and correct analysis could only be done when the person is not in total hatred with him and is neither having attitude of disciple, as his followers, who consider him as a man beyond mistakes."

He further said that there were two types of books by Mr. Bhutto, ones that he himself authored and others  his speeches and statements in courts that were transcribed later on in English and Urdu, and majority of his books were not written by him.

Mr. Chandio was of the opinion that all the books penned by Shaheed Bhutto were written in current reality, he didn't seem interested in going too long into history, he didn't seem interested in connecting his writings with society and give a social analysis and used journalistic approach, for example his most popular book counted in foreign policy "Myth of Independence", he himself claimed about that book that he wrote it in hurry, when criticism came on the book.

He also said that since Mr. Bhutto was head of a political party, he tried to present clear stance of his party on different issues, in that regard his books were his personal opinion and opinion of his party.
Mr. Chandio said that his criticism on Bhutto's books was that he didn't find in-depth historical consciousness in Bhutto's writings.

On 17th February Mr. Chandio posted on his official facebook account claiming that he had read   Mr. Bhutto's books previously, but went through them again recently as he was writing a book on federations in South Asia and he didn't find  intellectual discourse or any critical analysis. His post created a controversy on social media and Mr. Chandio was criticized by the followers and admirers of Shaheed Bhutto.
