#SindhBoycottsGeo Becomes Top Trend On Social Media
#SindhBoycottsGeo has become a trend on social networking site twitter and within few hours it was second most talked about trend in the micro blogging site, following the top trend #KashmirAtDiscussionPoint.
Politician Ayaz Latif Palejo, Activist Max Memon, Mushtaque Mirani, Ulfat Pitafi, and others joined the trend, while some of the tweets urged DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor to take action against the biased Geo TV (News) anchor.
While politician Ayaz Latif Palejo tweeted:
"All Sindhi and Urdu-speaking citizens of Sindh are sons & daughters of this soil, they should join hands for corruption-free, peaceful & prosperous Sindh & Pakistan.
We are body & soul & can't be parted.
Sindhi and Muhajir civil society should play its role to defeat hatemongers."
The people of Sindh took on to social media after their sentiments were hurt by the Geo TV (News) anchor Shahzad Iqbal, when he in his program called Karachi, the capital of Sindh "a separate province".
In a heated debate with PPP senior leader Nisar Khuro, anchor Shahzad Iqbal tried to refute Khuro's opinion by calling Karachi, the capital of Sindh, as "a separate province."
The Sindhi speaking people, which happen to be majority population of Sindh province took it as an offence to both Sindhi and Urdu speaking communities of Sindh, as Sindhi people have always considered Urdu speaking community as their brothers and sons of soil.
