Dr Allah Rahkio Butt’s Latest Book Termed As A Milestone For Researchers
Dr. N. A Baloch Institute of Heritage Research, Culture, Tourism
and Antiquities Department, Sindh has recently published research work of
renowned Sindhi researcher and scholar Late Prof. Dr. Allah Rakhio Butt titled “Sindhi
Boli Mein Chapiyal Kitaban Jo Tareekhi Jaizo (1819-1930)”.
The book contains 9 well researched articles of Late Dr. Butt;
these articles were published in “Quarterly Mehran” from 1995 to 2004, while
Mr. Nafees Ahmed Nuashad, the then editor of “Quarterly Mehran” has compiled
those articles in book form.

Baloch Institute of Heritage Research, Jamshoro commenting on the importance of
this book mentions that:
“This is the 25th book published by the institute, this
is a well-researched scholarly work of Dr, Allah Rakhio Butt, in which he has
mentioned the beginning of publishing of
Sindhi books, earliest publishing houses, earliest magazines, newspapers of
Sindhi language, lists of books on different topics, names of their authors and
researchers, dates of publishing, prices in a well-organized method. This is an
important historical document and it will prove as a milestone to researchers
who wish to carry out study on this topic.”
Late Prof. Dr. Allah Rakhio
Butt was born on 01st December 1946 in small village of Mehar,
District Dadu, Sindh, he completed his PhD in Library Science from Great
Britain in 1988, and served University of Sindh, Jamshoro as Professor (Meritorious).
He was author of many books, and his notable work includes: Samaat, Sindh
Mein Kutab Khanan Ji Mukhtasir Tareekh, Sindhi Risalan Ji Tareekh, and Sindhi
Tabat Ain Ashaat Ji Tareekh.
On 29th April, 2016, Dr. Butt passed away after a long
ailment.
