Family And Friends Put Chains To Grave Of Atta Mohammad Bhanbhro To Fulfill Unique Will



Family and friends fulfilled the unique will of Sindhi nationalist and historian Mr. Atta Mohammad Bhanbhro by putting chains on his grave to show that he died in slavery. Earlier today Mr. Bhanbhro was buried in the local graveyard and his grave was chained.

Mr. Bhanbhro was a writer, historian, linguistic and translator and a political activist, during his writing career he translated more than three hundred books into Sindhi language on subjects including linguistics, history, religion and geography related to Sindh.

Yesterday, at the age of 87, Mr. Bhanbhro died due to cardiac arrest at his native village. Among other works deciphering certain tablets of the script of Mohanjo Daro was considered his unique work.

Regarding this unique will, WiseSindh came to know from close relatives and friends that Mr. Bhanbhro had made that unique will of chaining his grave after his death to show the world that he lived in slavery and oppression and that slavery continued after his death.

Mr. Bhanbhro’s political ideology was Sindhi Nationalism and he was associated with a banned outfit of a separatist Sindhi nationalist political party. During his life one of his sons Raja Dahir went missing and later on his mutilated dead body was recovered.

Mr. Bhanbhro wrote and translated as many as 300 books into Sindhi language including Indus Script, The Art of War, Terrorist, Sindh Mazhaban Ji Mau, Sindhi Language, and others. He was offered Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, the highest Pakistani Award for civilian, but he rejected it claiming that he and his nation was a slave and being oppressed by the state.
