Son-in Law of Shaheed Bashir Khan Qureshi Abducted From His Karachi Residency

Son-in law of Shaheed Bashir Khan Qureshi, Engineer Muhammad Amar Qais Abro, was abducted  by unknown persons in plain clothes from his resisdency at Clifton Block 1, Karachi at midnight Thursday February 6, 2020. It has been alleged by family and close circle that he was abducted by certain law enforcing agencies.



According to sources Amar was picked up without any arrest warrant. “The police and other men in plain clothes barged into our home late in the night and took Amar Qais away,” his relatives told media.

During the raid they had also taken away three mobile phones of his mother and wife and the CCTV system installed at the residency.
“My nephew is educated from Malaysia and UK and he is an engineer and supply chain management professional. He has been working with PPL- Pakistan Petroleum Ltd for long. He is son of famous artist late Qais Alam Abro and educationist Hamida Metlo,” Said Mr. Gul Metlo, maternal uncle of Amar Qais.

“He has never been affiliated with any political organization or involved in any criminal activities. The only thing I can think of is that he is son-in-law of late political leader Shaheed Bashir Khan Qureshi,” he said.


“Considering the poor state of human rights in Pakistan, We have lot of concerns about his wellbeing and life,” Gul Metlo said.

“We demand his immediate safe release.”

The people hailing from different walks of life have condemned the incident and demanded immediate and safe release of Amar Qais. In their comments on social media, the people have termed it gross violation of human rights and urged the world rights bodies to take notice of this incident and ensure safe release of Engineer Amar Qais Abro.
