LUMHS, Jamshoro Student Allegedly Committed Suicide: SSP Jamshoro

Atif Arain, a student of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) Jamshoro allegedly committed suicide at Al-Sina Boys Hostel Room No: 61 after shooting himself here on Thursday. The post-postmortem report of the deceased was prepared by Dr. Imran Khawaja and Dr. Waqar.

The doctors claimed that "from initial reports it seems that Atif has committed suicide, but the final report would be delivered after 3 days, after which we would be able to establish the actual cause of his death."

Meanwhile SSP Jamshoro Mohammad Touqeer talking to "Wisesindh" said that: "a three member team has been made to investigate the cause and find out the facts whether this is suicide or not, police have asked LUMHS administration to fully cooperate with police during the investigation of this case, while the police would also try to find out how the weapon reached the hostel."

"When I reached my room after attending the classes, I found the door locked from inside, so I knocked the door but got no response from inside, I knocked for many times, when I didn't get any response, I reported to the hostel administration, after which the door was broken and we found Atif laying pool of blood," told Abdul Rafay, who happens to be Atif's roommate.

LUMHS Hostel provost Fatah Mohammad while talking with "Wisesindh" said: "It would be to early to say whether this incident took place at night or early in the morning, as it was reported to us around 12:00 pm, we broke into the room and found Atif's body and a pistol beside it."
