Dr. Arfana Mallah Has Become Silent Against Corruption At University After Getting Her Share: Prof. Azhar Shah

Sindh University Teachers Association's (SUTA) The Reformist Panel led by Prof: Dr. Azhar Ali Shah staged a protest outside Central Library (CL) against massive corruption and irregularities at University of Sindh, Jamshoro.

While addressing the media Prof: Azhar Shah accusing Dr. Arfana Mallah of taking her share said that: "Arfana Mallah was shouting against massive corruption at University of Sindh, but after getting her share she has become silent, and now she and her panel is engaged in actions against teachers. She along with her group is engaged in threatening the teachers so that she could gain her vested interests, which is condemnable act. Arfana Mallah's appointment as Associate Professor and Professor is illegal and a neutral committee should probe into this matter. From 2015 to 2017, Ms. Arfana was Associate Professor and Syndicate Member but she got remunerations of a Professor."

He further said that: "The wrong decisions against teachers in Syndicate are made, while there were certain people in Syndicate meeting, who were not even members of the Syndicate and they were termed as 'members', we demand that such wrong decisions should immediately be taken back."

"The Registrar of Sindh University is not member or secretary of Syndicate, but he wrongly attended the meeting, and he imposed on certain decisions that are not in the favour of teachers. Five irrelevant people attended the recent Syndicate Meeting, which is totally against the by-laws and we ask from CM Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, Pro-Chancellor Syed Sardar Shah and Secretary Universities to take strong action in this regard," Shah added.

He said that those meeting minutes in which decisions that are not in favour of teachers and which were made on wishes of certain group should be cancelled.

"We demand that three members of Board of Advanced Studies, who were appointed without the concerns of Academic Council should immediately be removed. A selection board for eligible candidates for BPS-22 and election on vacant Syndicate Seats should immediately be announced," Prof: Shah claimed.

On that occasion the activists of The Reformist Panel wore black bands and chanted slogans against corruption.
