Zardari was unable to do anything, What would Bilawal Do: Fawad Chaudhry
Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said on Monday that Pakistan People’s Party co-Chairman Bilawal Bhutto cannot topple the federal government when his own father Asif Ali Zardari failed to do so.
The federal minister was addressing a press conference, where he criticised the PPP chairman for claiming that if Zardari permitted then the party can overthrow the federal government.
“The foundation of the Sindh government is weak, it’s shaking, which is why they think we are bringing a change in the province… We don’t want to interfere at all,” said Chaudhry.
He said that Zardari and Nawaz Sharif want that the government changes the definition of corruption.
He claimed that Zardari had a network in Sindh and Nawaz in Punjab, adding that they had a Code of Conduct to save each other’s back.
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry's visit to Karachi has been postponed, the Press Information Department said in a statement on Monday.
The minister was scheduled to arrive in Karachi today evening, as rumours of governor’s rule and calls for resignation of the provincial chief minister heat up the political atmosphere in Sindh. Chaudhry was to meet allies and like-minded leaders in a bid to extract maximum support from the lawmakers to outnumber PPP representatives in the provincial house, as reports of change of leadership continue to make the rounds.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf accelerated efforts to seek allies in Sindh over the weekend. High-level leaders including Governor Imran Ismail, State Interior Minister Shehryar Afridi and Haleem Adil Sheikh met with local lawmaker Ali Gohar Mehar on Sunday to discuss the political dynamics of the province.
Earlier PPP Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari that his party can topple the PTI's government within a week if Asif Zardari gives permission. While talking to media persons press after expressing his condolence to the family of Late Syed Ali Raza Abidi, Bilawal said that it appears along with governance the PTI doesn’t even know simple math.
"I have got 99 seats in Sindh. They need 49 members to topple the Sindh government, he remarked. The PPP leader called the recently submitted Joint Investigative Report, a pack of lies and fabrication. The nexus between government and the JIT has been exposed now. We will challenge the JIT report before the court of law, he said. We will foil every conspiracy. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari further said that the people of Sindh won’t let the chief minster changed."
