SUTA To Start Agitation Against Dr. Burfat: Arfana Mallah

Sindh University Teachers' Association (SUTA) led by Ms. Arfana Mallah is going to open a new front against university's vice chancellor Dr. Fatah Mohammad Burfat, this time SUTA is going to protest against favoritism while appointing registrar and director finance.

Arfana Mallah has accused the VC of violating the rules and regulations by giving charges to professors on basis of favoritism so that he could split SUTA into different groups.

"The VC has given charge to inexperienced persons due to which university is bearing financial loss, only a person having degree in finance is eligible for the post of Director Finance (DF), but on this important position Associate Professor Hakeem Ali Mahessar is appointed, who possesses degree in commerce, though he has good teaching experience but has no administrative experience. Dr. Burfat wants to split SUTA into different groups that is why he is appointing such professors on these important positions," she added.

Ms. Mallah said that after VC, the position of registrar was considered an important position but it was pity that during Dr. Burfat's period seven registrars were changed. But SUTA won't remain silent on such vital issues of Sindh University and it would start agitation against VC Dr. Burfat.

Meanwhile Ms. Mallah welcomed the separation of universities from school and college education and Nisar Khuro being its adviser.

"Sindh University Teacher's Association (SUTA) appreciates and welcomes Sindh Government's move of separation of Universities and Boards portfolio from school and college education.

Higher education in Sindh required a separate minster or advisor. SUTA , hopes Nisar Khuhro being a senior parliamentarian of Sindh and former minister of education , will give especial attention to universities; which are facing worst management and financial crises.

SUTA, welcomes the appointment of Nisar Khuhro as an adviser of Universities and Boards department and  believe he would put his best efforts to strengthen higher education in Sindh," claimed Arfana Mallah.
