One such name is Moora Lala Marwada, a Kutchi Sindhi Sufi singer belonging to Janana Village of Gujrat State in India. He is well-known for singing poetry of Bhagat Kabir, Mirabai, Ravidas and Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

Mooralala sings in the Kaafi form of music that has evolved and been adopted by the Hindu singers of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. He has performed in many countries of the world including USA, India and Pakistan. Moora Lala also appeared in Coke Studio Season 2, in 2012 and song "Vari Jaun" along with Suman Sridhar, this song was well received by the audience and also became super hit song on social platform Youtube.

Moorala is often seen wearing a turban of Ajrak the cultural identity of Sindh and he ties it in traditional Sindhi style, he is also familiar with Sindhi language. He is often accompanied by Noor Mohammad Sodha, a flute player.

In an interview to "Maatibaani" Mooralala said:

"We have schools with a syllabus for Indian classical music. One can also get degrees in classical music but there are no formal institutes that teach folk music in a country that is so diverse in its musical heritage!

Educational institutes can not only help propagate the theory, etymology and help nurture more talent but it also allows folk musicians to interact with the world outside. Right now they only come in contact with the urban audience when they come to cities for shows.

The institutes can also help generate income for artistes if they are able to teach their art. A couple of French lute players have learnt the technique of playing Jodiya Pawa from Noor Mohammed Sodha by visiting his home. There is a demand to learn folk music, but there is no systematic way to learn it."

Some of his popular folk songs are: Vari Jaun, Hiye Kaayam and Banjara.
