Victoria Maclean: A Crazy fan Going for Guinness World Record for Largest Harry Potter Collection


According to BBC a lady named Victoria Maclean has got most Harry Potter collection and she is going to be part of World Guinness Record for 'Most Harry Potter Collection'.
Victoria Maclean has done just that - the 38-year-old has about 4,000 separate items at her home in Tonna, Neath Port Talbot.


She is trying to claim the world record for largest Harry Potter merchandise collection - held by Menahem Asher Silva Vargas, of Mexico City, who has 3,097 pieces.

Mrs Maclean's collection is being counted and verified before seeing if Guinness will award her the title.

While talking to BBC, Maclean said that: "I'm trying to beat the World Guinness Record for biggest Harry Potter collection. My collection includes bags, scarves, shoes, toys, CDs, DVDs, tapes, videos, pins, jewelry, necklaces, bracelets, it goes on and on and on and most importantly the books. I think it's between maybe 35,00 to 4,000, possibly more. I was 21, when I got into it, a bit old, couldn't go to Hogwarts. So I decided to bring Hogwarts to me. I bought everything I could and could afford, it snowballed from there, I could never tell you how much I have spent over the years, plus lot's of gifts, I'm so easy to buy for birthdays and Christmas.

 If you see a trunk, drawer or cupboard in my house, and if you open it, especially under my bed, it's just Harry Potter from bottom to top. It is chock-a-block. If there is a space I would put something there. The current world record is held by a gentleman in Mexico and it stands at 3,097 individual official items, whether I have broken it, I don't know, we will see, it will mean everything to me, it would mean that this obsession had meaning. I am getting tearful now, thinking about it. The whole idea of someone saying to you "you have biggest collection in the world". I don't know what I would do if they came back saying I hadn't. I don't know if I could do this again, this has taken a lot of work."

 Harry Potter is a series of fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The novels chronicle the lives of a young wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The main story arc concerns Harry's struggle against Lord Voldemort, a dark wizard who intends to become immortal, overthrow the wizard governing body known as the Ministry of Magic, and subjugate all wizards and Muggles (non-magical people). The novels were made into film series and both got worldwide success.
