Buildings of Hyderabad Sindh in 1925


This is a building in Gari Khatta area of Hyderabad, the second largest city of Sindh. According to gathered information this building belonged to some Hindu family and it was established in 1925. The building is located in UC-25 Gari Khatta, Hyderabad near Ibrat Press. Earlier it was known as Sad-Kehar Mahla No: 1.









Famous Sindhi writer, novelist, dramatist and journalist Mohammad Usman Deplai also used to live in this building, a case was filed against him regarding the possession of the building and he left it after he lost the case.








After the partition in 1947, this building was given in claim to family of Mohammad Ali, who became Pakistani film star and a great celebrity. His father was Hafiz-e-Quran and Muzzin in the local mosque. Some time before his death, actor Mohammad Ali visited the place and a video documentary of the building was made. Nowadays, this building is possessed by some Ansari family that runs a shoe factory from this building.
