The versatile actor of Bollywood Nawazuddin Siddiqui has asked his fans to wait for few more hours as the trailer of his toughest role so far would be launched. Siddiqui was indicating about his role of Thackeray, a biopic based on life of controversial Indian politician and Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray. It is being directed by Abhijit Panse and has been written by Shiv Sena politician Sanjay Raut.
The official trailer of the movie would be released today and the movie would be screened in January 2019 on 93rd birth anniversary of Bal Thackeray.
Siddiqui took on to his official twitter handle and wrote: "Few more hours of wait for the trailer of the toughest role I have done ever #Thackeray."
Apart from Nawazuddin, Amrita Rao would play role of Meena Tai Thackeray, the wife of Shena founder, while Laxman Singh rajput, Anushka Jadhav, Niranjan Javir and Abdul Qadir Amin would share the screen.
Thackeray began his professional career as a cartoonist with the English language daily The Free Press Journal in Mumbai, but left it in 1960 to form his own political weekly Marmik. His political philosophy was largely shaped by his father Keshav Sitaram Thackeray, a leading figure in the Samyukta Maharashtra (United Maharashtra) movement, which advocated the creation of a separate linguistic state.
Through Marmik, he campaigned against the growing influence of non-Marathis in Mumbai. In 1966, Thackeray formed the Shiv Sena party to advocate for the interests of Maharashtrians in Mumbai's political and professional landscape. Holding views attacking Muslims and once praising Adolf Hitler, he was known for his writings and was seen as a good orator.
He had a large political influence in the state, especially in Mumbai; his party frequently used violent means against its detractors. Thackeray and Chief Minister Manohar Joshi were blamed for inciting the shivsainiks to commit violence against Muslims during the 1992–1993 Bombay riots in the Srikrishna Commission Report, an inquiry by the government.
Thackeray was banned from voting and contesting in any election for six years on the recommendations of the Election Commission for indulging in seeking votes in the name of religion.
Earlier Nawazuddin Siddiqui thanked director Anurag Kashyap for praising his role in Manto saying: "Thank You sooo much @anuragkashyap72 Bhai, it’s always great to hear such compliments from you. and Yes it’s there on Netflix now, so don’t miss it #Manto."
