Famous Sindhi personalities who died in December
Sindh is known to be a land of ancient civilization and from time to time it has produced great personalities, who from time to time have served Sindh in different fields here is a list of some famous personalities of Sindh, who left this world in the month of December:
Dr. Dur-e-shahwar Syed (Educationist, Scholar): Dur-e-shahwar was an educationist and scholar of Sindhi language, she was a PhD (doctor) and she is famous for writing book "Melodies of Shah Latif", she was daughter of the greatest politician Sindh has ever produced Sain G M Syed, she died on 26 December 1997.
Benazir Bhutto Shaheed (Politician): Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was among most successful politicians of the country, she become prime minister twice in 1988-190 and 1993-1996, she launched MRD movement against Zia Regime in 1980s. She was assassinated on 27 December 2007 at Liaquat Bagh after a public gathering.
Shaikh Ayaz (Poet): The most appreciated poet of Sindhi after Shah Abdul latif Bhitai is Shaikh Ayaz, even today his poetry is quoted by Sindhis, he wrote several books of poetry, autobiography and operas, some of the most famous are Ranikot ja Dhareel, Dodo Sommro jo Mout and Bhagat Singh Khay Phahee. The renowned poet died on 28 December 1997 and is buried at Bhit Shah.
Rehman Mughal aka Sarmad Sindhi (Singer): Rehman Mughal well-known as Sarmad Sindhi was seasoned singer, who was also entitled as 'Voice of Sindh', he is probably the most famous Sindhi singer among youth even today, on 27 December 1996 in a road mishap he died. Renowned Sindhi singer Ahmed Mughal is his younger brother.
Fareed Nawaz Baloch (Actor): Fareed Nawaz Baloch was a famous Sindhi actor, who performed many super-hit and unforgettable roles in various dramas of PTV. He died on 15th December 2001. He is father to Yasir and Danish Nawaz, who both happen to be famous media personalities.
Ferozuddin (Singer): Ferozuddin was a renowned singer of Sindhi at Radio Pakistan, he is well-known for his classical style. He died on 16 December 2004.
Amanat Gul (Singer): Amanat Gul was a Sindhi classical singer at Radio Pakistan and he died on 31 December 2010.
Our beloved poet Saeed Memon also died in this month.
