Famous Sindhi Dramatist And Writer Abdul Qadir Junejo Passes Away
Famous Sindhi writer and dramatist Abdul Qadir Junejo passed away at Jamshoro, from a long time he was on bed and was suffering from liver disorder. He passed away at the age of 77. Mr. Junejo was well-known from his dramas, while he also penned an English novel "The Dead River", while he had also finished its sequel "Rustics", apart from that he authored more than 10 books in Sindhi language including sketches, literary criticism, short stories and translations. In 2008, for his great services for literature the Government of Pakistan awarded him Pride of Performance Award and in 2016, Sindh government awarded him Latif Award. Mr. Junejo served as chairman Sindhi Language Authority and Director Institute of Sindhology. In this regards renowned Sindhi short story writer and close friend of Mr. Junejo, Shoukat Shoro offered condolence with deceased's family and termed it a great loss of Sindhi literature.
